Dear CCPC Family,

The countdown to Christmas has begun in earnest!

First though, a word about Christmas Eve and Day and the distinctive services we will be offering.

Our five o'clock "Family Service" on Christmas Eve will include a particapatory re-enactment of the Nativity story. That means that your children and grandchildren can be the shepherds, wise men, or angels they (or you!) always wanted them to be. We'll have halos and robes, sheep ears and crowns for them all. It will be "A Perfect Christmas Pageant!" Leading us in worship will be our Exaltation and Revelation Choirs, along with a Youth Orchestra.

Our eight o'clock service will include our traditional reading of familiar lessons and singing of favorite carols. We'll have brass instruments, pipe organ, and Sanctuary Choir to lead us. Before the benediction, we'll light our candles while singing "Silent Night," and then "ring in" Christmas which will be a first here.

Then at eleven o'clock, the mood will become more contemplative with harp and strings and candlelight sweeping over the hush of the sanctuary. A Choral Ensemble will lead us in singing, offer special music, and the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated before we light our candles and "ring in" Christmas.

Our hope is that one or more of these services will help prepare you to receive the Gift, and that you will want to return the following day for Christmas morning worship in the Sanctuary -- a family friendly, "come as you are" service with coffee, hot cocoa and sticky buns to follow in The Atrium.

O holy Child of Bethlehem,Descend to us, we pray;
Cast out our sin and enter in, Be born in us today.

Merry Christmas!
