Austin Street Centre
Located near downtown Dallas, Austin Street Centre has been at the forefront of helping the homeless and poor of Dallas for more than twenty years. Austin Street provides shelter for more than 400 men, women and children each night, free substance abuse counseling, group therapy, one-on-one therapy with licensed chemical dependency counselors, job training and other ministries to those in need. Austin Street also has a thrift store, which is used as a means to serve the poor community in which it is located and for job training. Proceeds from the thrift store go to support the operating budget for Austin Street.
Church members make sandwiches the fourth Wednesday of each month. A team travels to the Austin Street Centre and serves a meal of sandwiches, chips, cookies, fruit and milk.
