Interfaith’s mission is to be the hands of Christ, helping families to transition to self-sufficiency and new hope. Founded in 1985, Interfaith Housing Coalition provides transitional housing, programs and services to help Dallas-area families in poverty and homelessness. Beyond meeting basic needs for housing, food, and clothing, their services include a job search and employment program, budget and financial literacy training, parenting classes and counseling. For the children and teens of families living at Interfaith Housing, an after school and summer enrichment program are provided.
Canyon Creek staff and members have been donating talent, treasure and time to IHC almost since its founding. Volunteers serve as “co-partners,” working with residents on Tuesday or Thursday evenings as they learn budgeting and other skills, providing childcare while parents attend these meetings, and other tasks. We have many members who volunteer at Interfaith, some for over twenty years! You can become involved with Interfaith as a volunteer, or as a donor of cash or furniture or other household goods.
