The children’s and youth choirs of Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church presented the spring musical Malice in the Palace on May 6th.

Illustrating the powerful message that even the smallest person can make a difference, by acting bravely, and that God places us all where we are for a reason, this musical is especially appropriate considering all the current ethical issues society faces. Based on the Biblical story of Esther, whose faith in God gave her the courage to stand up for what was right, the musical has all the ingredients of a Hollywood thriller: a beautiful and spirited heroine, a dark-hearted villain, a twisting plot of danger and intrigue, and a cliffhanger climax.

Kicking off the events at 5 p.m. will be the Cherub Choir (ages 4 through kindergarten), singing favorite Bible tunes, followed by the presentation of “Malice in the Palace,” by CCPC’s Sonshine (first and second grades) and Covenant (third through fifth grades) Choirs. The church’s Revelation (senior high) Choir will sponsor the Hamburger Dinner immediately following the musical.

The musical, written by the renowned team of Allen Pote and Tom Long, was directed by Marsha Ray, Canyon Creek Presbyterian‘s Associate Director of Music Ministries. CCPC is located at 3901 North Star at E. Renner in East Richardson. For details, call 972-238-8103.
