David W. Hays

David joined the CCPC staff in February 2000 having previously served two churches in Fort Smith, Arkansas: South Side Baptist, where he was Minister of Music and Administration, and First Presbyterian, serving as Director of Music. David grew up in a musical family and felt God’s call to the ministry in his senior year of high school. He attended Ouachita University where he received a B.M. in Church Music and Voice, and earned the Master of Music degree in Voice and Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.

David received a work study in conducting and voice in France with American choral master Robert Shaw, and was a member of the Robert Shaw Festival Singers in 1989 and the Robert Shaw Carnegie Hall Workshop Chorus since 1996. He is a member of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians, the American Choral Directors Association, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers.

Currently David directs the Sanctuary Choir in the 2 traditional worship services and leads the Praise Team at the Contemporary Service. He also directs the Youth Choir (grades 7-12) and the adult handbells. He resides with his wife, Mary Beth in Plano.
