Our Sunday Morning JAM classes (formerly known as Sunday School) are Connecting Kids to Christ!

We use Standard Publishing curriculum for two-year olds through kindergarten. Students in Grades 1-4 see "God's Big Picture." This curriculum, published by Gospel Light Publications, presents in chronological order, major characters of the Bible. Students in Grades 1 and 3 study the Old Testament, while students in Grades 2 and 4 study the New Testament. In addition to the Bible curriculum, each grade spends time learning to articulate their faith using Belonging to God: A First Catechism and internalizing a class goal such as The Lord's Prayer, The Ten Commandments, or The Apostles' Creed. Fifth Grade students focus on applying the Bible to real life and use Group Publishing Company's "Hands On" curriculum designed for this purpose.

And there's more! Special enrichment activities are included. First and second graders focus on the Sacraments and worship. Third graders studying the Old Testament "Journey with Moses" in a hands-on, activity-based learning adventure. Fourth grade students receive a Bible from the church with related learning activities.

We are committed to teaching in teams and to pairing inexperienced teachers with experienced. For more information contact the Director of Children's Ministries, at 972-238-8103.

Parents are asked to be prompt in picking up children from class so the JAM teachers may attend worship at 11:00am. Preschool children who attend Little Lambs at 11:00am will be escorted to those classes by teachers.

LITTLE LAMBS
Sunday Mornings at 11:00 am
For children who are two, three, four or five
(as of Sept 1)

MISSIONS & MORE CLUB

This is a Sunday morning program for all children who are three years old (before September 1) through the fifth grade. During the Sunday Morning JAM at 9:35 am on the last three Sundays in August, children experience missions through music, stories, and crafts. This experience is designed to increase awareness of God’s people and work throughout the world and to gain an appreciation for Christians in places outside of Richardson. The annual Youth Mission Trip is always a focus.

SUNDAY MORNING JAM ENROLLMENT PROCESS

Parents are asked to complete an annual Enrollment Form for each child (Infant - Fifth Grade). The form provides information that will ensure the teachers and staff are aware of allergies, special learning needs, and who is authorized to pick up your child. Children will be released only to those authorized by their parents as indicated on the Enrollment Form. Forms are available from all Sunday Morning JAM teachers or through the Church Office, or you may enroll online at Sunday Morning JAM Form.

To provide the best environment possible for all of our members and visitors, we assign each student to their appropriate class. Parents may indicate on the Enrollment Form the name of one friend they would like their child to be paired with. We make every effort to accommodate these requests.

PROMOTION SUNDAY

Promotion Sunday is the first Sunday in June and all students currently enrolled are promoted to the next level. Children in our Toddler Nursery who will be two years old by September 1 are promoted in September into the Two-Year-Old class. This allows a few more months' maturation before entering a Preschool JAM class.

TEACHERS

We invite parents to join a JAM teaching team for either the Summer or School Year!

We are committed to teaching in teams and to pairing inexperienced teachers with experienced teachers. Team teaching encourages friendships, mutual growth and guilt-free time off. Our curriculum is easy to use, age appropriate, and theologically sound. Educational opportunities for teachers are held several times throughout the year. All parents are encouraged to "take their turn" as teachers or aides in this vital ministry. For more information, or to volunteer, the Director of Children's Ministries at 972-238-8103.
