We believe in cherishing our heritage while co-creating the future of our church with our Great Creator God. This is an exciting time for CCPC as hundreds of our church members are participating in a Vision Task Force effort to discern a vision for how God is calling us into the future.
In 1963, CCPC was first established in a new area of Richardson called Canyon Creek. For forty years, we served as the backbone of that neighborhood, providing not only worship and Christian education but a wide variety of community services and outreach.
In 2003, we moved to our new location, at a place where several communities intersect: East Richardson, Sachse, East Plano, Murphy, Wylie, and North Garland. The demographics at our new location are considerably different from our old location. We have moved from an area of primarily older, established upper-middle-income families to a fast-growth area of new homes and apartments with younger, middle-income single adults and families. Our vision for the future includes adapting our mission and ministry to the needs of this new demographic reality to truly serve our neighbors as we did in our previous location.
While the results of our Vision Task Force efforts won’t be rolled out until the Fall of 2007, we feel that God is calling our church to take a leadership role in our new Northstar Neighborhood, and to once again become a hub for community service and outreach. Stay tuned!
