Reflections on Faith and Community

Dear friends,

On this page, you will find weekly reflections on life and faith. My hope is that, in some way, they will prove helpful to you in your daily living. You can also find them on the church's YouTube Channel in the "Weekly Word" playlist. May God bless you on the spiritual journey.

Continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:14)

This Sunday is Family Sunday, a time that has become something of a tradition at CCPC. On this special Sunday, kids and families will lead both worship services, and we will have a special presentation of Bibles for our 3rd graders and Kindergartners. It will be a great day, no doubt.

In keeping with the Family Sunday theme, we will have a guest preacher, someone from the family. My wife, Rev. Denise Odom, will share the message with us. I am actually pretty excited about it because, even though many of you know her socially, you haven’t been given the gift of experiencing what I know, which is that she is a wonderful preacher. Denise is exuberant, hope-filled, expressive, and just plain fun to listen to.

So, I hope to see you with us this Sunday as our families lead the larger church community in worship, as our Kindergartners and 3rd graders receive their bibles, and as we are all reminded that God speaks to us through all kinds of people from all kinds of places in life and in all kinds of ways. See you Sunday!
