Reflections on Faith and Community

Dear friends,

On this page, you will find weekly reflections on life and faith. My hope is that, in some way, they will prove helpful to you in your daily living. You can also find them on the church's YouTube Channel in the "Weekly Word" playlist. May God bless you on the spiritual journey.

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! (from Psalm 150)

On Sunday we came together for one worship service at 10:30 to celebrate the ministries of the church and ask God’s blessing for another year. The entire morning was wonderful, filled with different things than we normally do on a Sunday morning. We included elements from all of our worship styles in a Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans service of blessing. We processed the tartans into the sanctuary as a representation of the different ministries of the church, and we asked God’s blessing upon them.

One person I would like to say a special thank you to is Beth Anne Meriwether, who played the bagpipes for the service. Beth Anne is a talented piper who we are happy to call one of our own. When she is not playing for another church, she can be found singing in our Sanctuary Choir. Thank you Beth Anne for helping make Sunday such a special day!

I would also like to thank all who helped make our annual meeting presentation such a vibrant and meaningful time. It took a little longer than expected, but everyone walked away with a true understanding of the many amazing things Canyon Creek did this past year. What an incredible church this is. Thank you all for helping us see what God is doing through the ministries of the church. It was truly inspiring.
