This year’s Advent devotionals will come to you three times a week for each of the four weeks of Advent.  Each devotional will be based on Movements from Handel’s Messiah.

We often associate Handel’s Messiah with Easter and the Hallelujah Chorus.  In fact, this was the original intended purpose.  In fact, about one third of the Messiah’s Movements are based on prophetic scripture passages that foretell the birth of Jesus, the Messiah. For this reason, it was quickly associated with the season of Advent.

Each day, you will be able to view the scripture passage on which the Movement is based while listening to a performance via a video link.  We hope that this multimedia experience will help the scripture come alive for you as it has for so many over the years. The season of Advent is an opportunity for us to stop and reflect on the coming of Jesus into the world and our own lives.

As you reflect, you will have the ability to share your experience with others through posting a comment – if you feel so led.

Grace and peace to you. May the Joy of Christ’s coming fill our hearts anew!

We hope you enjoy these Advent devotions and that they will help you prepare your heart and your home for celebrating Christ's birth.

The Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the Covenant, whom you delight in; behold, He shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
